The Path of Discipleship
Discipleship is a process of separation. One should not hunt for a Guru. It is not necessary to run for a guru. Otherwise one welcome across a Guru of one's own quality. A disciple is like an object and a Guru is like a mirror. One sees in the Guru what one really is. If the disciple says the Guru is good, it means he is good. If he says the Guru is hopeless it means the disciple is hopeless. This has been a difficult point at least for me. However, one day a great Guru told me, "In order to find the Guru you must try to educate yourself into becoming a disciple".

OUR HISTORY

Our Yoga School was founded in 2001 inspired and guided by the teachings of a great Master Swami Satyananda Saraswati. The tradition, Satyanandayoga is the system developed by Swami Satyananda and his lineage, incorporating practices of Yoga, Meditation and Tantra from ancient and traditional sources. Satyananda Yoga offers practices in the traditional style, asanas (positions) to balance the body and mind, pranayama (breathing techniques) to conduct energy in the body, meditations to calm and center the mind. The satyanandayoga tradition also widely expands its vision towards Yoga as a lifestyle.

In 1920 a great Master Swami Sivananda went to Rishikesh and began to explore other forms of classical yoga and to develop a system of yoga to integrate the faculties of head, heart and hands and awaken the self, he founded the Divine Life Society which taught integral yoga and in the 1950s and 1960s his disciples founded yoga centers and schools from Sri Lanka to Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Australia, Mauritius, South Africa and the United States. Among these was Swami Satyananda who founded the Bihar School of Yoga in 1963 and the satyanandayoga tradition, now also known as Bihar Yoga.

We come from there and the history of this Yoga School begins from there.
